Chapter One

“Shit! Not again. Not my Princess. This can’t be happening again. What the fuck did I just do? Why did I do that?” Louis paced back and forth, ranting to himself.

Louis took out running down the stairs and ran to his car. He needed to hurry up and get out of there. This was the last place he wanted to be caught after what he had just done. There was only one thing to do and only one person he could turn to. Celine was the only person Louis knew he could trust. She had gone down this road with him before, and he was hoping she wouldn’t mind going down it again. He called Celine and told her that he messed up and he was on his way. He didn’t elaborate, but Celine knew it had to be something serious and she couldn’t be happier.

Louis raced towards Celine’s house, making sure not to drive too fast because he didn’t want to get stopped by the police. He didn’t know if they had been alerted to his recent actions and he wasn’t willing to take any chances. He just needed to make it to his destination as quickly as possible, so he could make his next move.

Louis pulled up to Celine’s house in record time. He threw the car in park and hopped out without even stopping it. He ran to the door but made sure to look around to make sure no one saw him. The minute Louis made it to the door, he began banging on it. His paranoia was at an all-time high, so he couldn’t help constantly looking around to see if he was being watched. It only took Celine about thirty seconds to open the door, but it felt much longer to Louis.

“Why the fuck are you at my house, Louis?” asked Celine.

“I don’t have time for your bullshit today. I need your help.”

“And why should I hel-”

Louis didn’t give Celine the opportunity to finish her question. He brushed past her and walked into her house. He was looking around in every room to make sure no one else was there. He was about to tell her something that he knew he couldn’t let anyone else overhear.

“Fuck all that, Celine. Is anyone else here?” asked Louis.

“No, not that it’s any of your business. What’s wrong with you, Louis? The last time I saw you like this is when you killed Tameka,” responded Celine.

“Celine, I fucked up. I fucked up big time. You’re the only person I know will be behind me on this.”

“What happened, Louis? Is it Morgan? Did you kill that home-wrecking whore?”

“No, I didn’t kill Morgan.”

“Well, why the fuck are you here? I don’t know what you’ve done, but what I do know is that Morgan is the person you chose over me. Whatever you’ve gotten yourself into this time has nothing to do with me. I helped you with your first wife because we were messing around at the time. Let Morgan help you with this fuck up. Or have you found out that she won’t ride for you like I did?”

“Shut the fuck up, Celine. This shit is serious.”

Louis was getting aggravated with Celine and her ranting. The situation he was dealing with was serious. He never regretted anything he had done in life, not even killing his first wife. What he had just done was proving to be more than he could handle. He regretted it from the moment he finished doing it. His life was about to change drastically and the only thing Celine could ponder on was the fact that he had chosen Morgan over her.

“Well, you and your serious shit get the fuck out of my house,” said Celine.

“I can’t, Celine. Please hear me out. I need you,” replied Louis.

“So, now you need me? You didn’t need me when you were fucking all those different women at work. You damn sure didn’t need me when you decided that Morgan was the person you wanted to be with. I’ve always loved you, Trevor. Yes, I called you Trevor because that’s who you are. You see, I know the real you and accepted you for who you are. Morgan and everyone else in this town know Louis, the person you pretend to be. No matter how much I love you, you only ever try to use me. I’m not letting you do that to me anymore.”

“It’s not like that, Celine. I do love you. I just got caught up and I’m sorry. I never should’ve chosen Morgan over you. I never should’ve messed with any of those women at my job. You were the one who was there for me. You gotta know I love you. I killed my wife to be with you.”

“You didn’t kill her to be with me, so you can stop lying to me and yourself. You killed her because you’re possessive. You was mad because she was about to leave you after finding out about me.”

Louis was becoming agitated because he needed Celine to be on his side, but she didn’t seem to be falling for his games this time. Louis was going to have to go on the run again and he didn’t want to do it alone. That was the reason he married Celine in the first place. She was in love with him, but he was never in love with her. She was just someone he was messing around with while he was away from his wife. After she caught feelings, she wanted him to leave his wife for her. He refused to leave her, so Celine sent his wife a video of her and Louis having sex. When she tried to leave him, he killed her because he didn’t want anyone else to be with her.

“Celine, I don’t have much time. I left Morgan and I’m about to leave this town. We came here together and I don’t want to just leave you behind. Whatever it’ll take for us to be right again, I’ll do it. I just need you to come with me this one last time. Please,” Louis desperately pleaded.

“What did you do this time, Louis? Just tell me what you did and I’ll give you my list of demands that I’ll expect you to follow through on, in order for me to go with you.”

“I-I killed her.”

“You killed who? I asked you if you killed Morgan and you told me you didn’t.”

“I didn’t kill Morgan. I killed Princess, her baby.”

“Why the fuck would you do that?”

“She was supposed to be mine, Celine. She was supposed to be my daughter and I couldn’t take the fact that she wasn’t. Every day I would look at her looking at me with the same eyes that Brian possessed, and I hated it. I was getting over it, though. I was starting to accept the fact that she wasn’t mine. I loved her like she was my own flesh and blood.”

“Well, then why would you kill that innocent child?”

“Morgan was about to take her from me. I went to the house to see them and I saw Morgan’s car filled with their clothes. I was going to go in the house and beat Morgan’s ass, but she was on the sofa sleep. When I saw Princess sitting in her car seat, I went and picked her up because I was about to just take her and leave. I was going to take her away from Morgan, like she was about to do to me. Then, she looked at me with those same eyes that always caused me so much heartache. I just snapped. I took her upstairs to her room and laid her in her crib. I took a pillow and smothered her. Morgan was going to take her from me, so I decided to take Princess from her by killing her instead.”

Louis was pacing the floor with tears rolling down his eyes. He didn’t want to kill Princess. He regretted it from the moment he moved the pillow from over her face and looked at her. She was so beautiful and innocent. He wanted to bring her back. He wished he was able to turn back the hands of time and do things differently. Maybe he would’ve killed Morgan instead. Maybe he would’ve just beaten her. One thing he knew for sure was that he wouldn’t have done anything to Princess because he knew she didn’t deserve it. Louis didn’t know how he would be able to live with himself after what he had done to her.

“Louis, your ass is sick. You need help.”

“No, Celine, I just need you. Don’t you love me? I’ll do anything you want. I promise I will. Just come with me this one last time.”

Celine seemed to be torn about what she wanted to do. She did love Louis, but she wondered if she would end up in the same position again. She didn’t want to be a fool for him, but she couldn’t control what her heart wanted. Although Louis wouldn’t leave his wife for her and left her for Morgan, in that moment, all Celine wanted was to be with Louis. She was hoping she could show him that she was all he would ever need.

“I’ll leave with you, Louis. This is the last time I’m going to let you put me in this situation. I don’t want to keep living like this. You have to promise me that you won’t do anything like this again.”

“I promise, baby. I promise I won’t do this again.”

“You have to marry me again and, this time, you have to stay faithful to me. I am willing to sign a prenuptial agreement again, but this time it is going to work in my favor. If you cheat on me, I get to get everything.”

“Fine, I’ll do it. You can have whatever you want. We need to leave away from here now, though. We can get married when we make it wherever we’re going to go.”

Celine didn’t waste another minute running to the room to grab some of her things. When Louis called her and told her he had messed up, she already had it in her mind to go with him. It didn’t matter to her what he had done, she was just happy to get her man back.

***

Celine was in the room trying to grab as much of her things as possible. Louis was rushing her because he knew the police would be looking for him soon. He went outside and moved his car to Celine’s garage. After closing the garage so his car couldn’t be seen, he went back into the house. He turned on the television to see if anything was on the news. At first, they were talking about the presidential election between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump. Everyone who loved President Obama was hoping for another Clinton presidency. Louis was about to turn off the television until he saw the words ‘breaking news’ come across the television. His heart began to pound when he heard what the breaking news was.

“I’m Tatyana Love from your local news station, MCTV, reporting live at the scene of the city’s most recent crime. It appears that a murder-suicide has occurred inside of this home. Police responded after they received a phone call from a man named Brian, who said he was worried because Morgan Stewart was supposed to be leaving with their daughter, Princess. He said she was being abused by her lover, Louis Williams, and she was taking their daughter so she could get out of the abusive relationship. Brian also said Morgan was supposed to call him when she made it to her destination and he became worried when he didn’t hear from her. Witnesses saw a man quickly leaving the home a short while ago. That man is believed to be Mr. Williams. Police are looking for him for questioning, but Mr. Williams has seemed to disappear. If anyone knows the whereabouts of this man, please contact your local authorities. I’m Tatyana Love and this has been your local news.”

Louis didn’t realize he had begun shaking. He knew the police would be looking for him, but he didn’t expect it to be this soon. He needed to get out of White Castle quickly. As small as the town was, he knew it wouldn’t take long for the police to find him.

Louis got up off the sofa and ran to the room where Celine was. She was taking too long getting her things, and he needed her to hurry up. If she wasn’t ready in the next five minutes, he was going to leave without her. He wanted her with him because he didn’t want to go through this alone, but he didn’t want to go to jail either.

“Celine, you gotta hurry your ass up. I just saw on the news that they found Morgan and her baby dead. They’re looking for me. We got to go now,” said Louis.

“Morgan? I thought you didn’t kill Morgan? I’m not going with you if you can’t be completely honest with me, Louis,” replied Celine.

“Look, I didn’t kill Morgan. That’s the truth. I killed Princess and Morgan must have killed herself. We need to get out of here. We can talk about this shit later.”

Celine didn’t know whether or not she believed Louis. She didn’t care one way or another if he did kill Morgan. She just didn’t want him lying to her about it. Celine finished putting a few more items in her bag and zipped it up.

“Okay, I’m ready. I need help with these bags.”

Louis grabbed Celine’s bags and they rushed to the door so they could leave. As soon as they made it to the door, someone began knocking. Louis and Celine looked at one another with fear in their eyes. Celine wasn’t expecting anyone because she didn’t really talk to anyone. Louis was on high alert and, for a second, he didn’t know if he could trust Celine.

He dropped her bags and quickly grabbed her by the neck. Celine was shocked that he was doing that to her because she hadn’t done anything wrong. Louis was just being paranoid because of the situation at hand.

“You slick bitch! You set me up? That’s why you were taking so long to get your shit? You called the police on me?” asked Louis.

“No, I would never do that, Louis. You should know that.”

“Then, who is at the fucking door?”

“How am I supposed to know?”

“Answer the door. I swear to God, if you set me up, I will kill you before the police take me.”

Louis let go of Celine, so she could open the door. He ran into the bedroom and hid in a closet. Celine walked to the door and opened it. She tried to compose herself when she saw two police officers standing on her doorstep.

“Are you Celine Williams?” asked one of the officers.

“Yes, I’m Celine. How may I help you?”

“We need to talk to you about your husband, Louis Williams.”

Celine hesitated for a moment. She looked back to see if Louis was around her. She looked back at the officers and smiled.

“Come on in,” said Celine.
